Week 7 - The Good Shepherd

October 11 - 17

John 10:1–42; 11:1–27
Week 7 begins with a shepherd who knows His sheep and ends with a grieving woman who wonders why Jesus didn't come sooner. Along the way, Jesus makes two remarkable claims: “I am the Good Shepherd” and “I am the resurrection and the life.” He is not simply someone who offers guidance or comfort. He is the One who knows us, loves us, lays down His life for us, and holds us securely in His hands.

Then the story takes a deeply personal turn. Lazarus is dying, and Jesus delays coming to him. Martha knows Jesus loves her family, but she cannot understand His timing. In the middle of her grief and questions, Jesus invites her to trust Him—not because she understands what He is doing, but because of who He is.

Take the readings a day at a time, Sunday through Friday, and listen for the voice of the Good Shepherd. Where do you need His guidance? What fears or uncertainties are you carrying? Is there something in your life where God's timing has left you wondering? Bring those questions honestly to Jesus. He knows you, He loves you, and He invites you to trust Him even when you cannot see what He is doing.
