Week 5 - Jesus is the Light

John 7:1–8:30
Week 5 begins with Jesus’ own brothers telling Him what He should do and ends with His declaration: “I am the light of the world.” In between, the crowds argue over who He is, He invites the thirsty to come and drink, and a woman facing condemnation encounters His grace. Everyone seems to have an opinion about Jesus. He keeps revealing who He really is.
As the week unfolds, Jesus challenges the expectations and assumptions people bring to Him. His timing unsettles them. His authority divides them. His mercy exposes their own need for forgiveness. And His invitation becomes personal: Will we trust Him enough to follow where He leads?
Take the readings a day at a time, Sunday through Friday, and sit with the questions. Pay attention to where your expectations may be keeping you from seeing Jesus clearly... and to His invitation at the end of the week: What would it look like to bring that part of your life into His light?
