Week 4 - Jesus is the Bread of Life

September 20-26

John 6:16–71
Week 4 begins in the dark, with the disciples caught on rough water, and ends with many of Jesus’ followers walking away. In between, Jesus makes one of His clearest claims yet: “I am the Bread of Life.” The crowds want another meal. Jesus offers them something far greater—Himself.

As the week unfolds, the question shifts from what Jesus can give us to whether Jesus Himself is enough. His words become harder, the crowd gets smaller, and eventually the Twelve have to decide whether they will stay.

Take the readings a day at a time, Sunday through Friday, and sit with the questions. Pay attention to what you are seeking from Jesus—and to Peter’s question at the end of the week: If we turn away from Him, where else would we go?
